The BCA Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) seeks to connect parents with the school, to support the work of teachers, to connect BCA families with one another, and to assist Development in fundraising. The PTF also publishes the Roaring News, a weekly e-mail publication filled with announcements, reminders, and student achievements.
To connect parents with the school, the PTF sponsors Open Houses in the fall and spring. Open Houses were held on October 6, 2011 and March 29, 2012.
The PTF supports and appreciates the efforts of teachers through meals (Teacher's Lounge Fridays), birthday commemorations, bake sales, and teacher appreciation events in the spring. Grade parents, who focus on one particular classroom, are coordinated through the PTF.
To help BCA families connect with one another, the PTF sponsors family events including the Fall Festival, a spring dance, and more.
The PTF sponsors spirit nights at local restaurants, promotes merchants' rewards programs, processes Labels for Education, and assists Development with major fundraising efforts.
How can families join the work of the PTF? There's a place for you! Two Hour Power volunteers are a valuable source of assistance, giving as little as two hours sometime during the school year. Two Hour Power tasks can be done at home in the evening or during a special event at the school. We encourage every adult to sign up for Two Hour Power when the form comes home. Our classroom parents are valuable volunteers. These parents support each classroom teacher through coordinating seasonal celebrations for the class and helping the teacher with a variety of activities. PTF Committee membership utilizes the talents and time of our parents and other adults to support the school throughout the year.
We welcome parent involvement at BCA! We invite you to participate in PTF activities that support our excellent teachers.
