Distinctives 
Each school has its own unique personality, temperament, core values, focus and corporate culture. These are the components that make any school distinctive, unique, either effective or ineffective. At BCA many components contribute to our being an effective school. All of these together enhance our ability to provide an excellent high school education. The “center of the universe” for a BCA High School is student learning and achievement. Our distinctives will help make this a reality. These include:

College Prep
BCA offers a College Prep Course of Study in our high school.  College Prep is for those students who plan to attend a four-year college or university after high school. The requirements and course of study will meet the requirements to enroll in the UNC University system and its 16 colleges including Appalachian, East Carolina, A&T State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-G Greensboro, Western Carolina, Elizabeth City State University, UNC-Charlotte, Winston-Salem State University, UNC-Pembroke, NC School of the Arts, NC Central University, UNC Asheville, NC State University, Fayetteville State University, and UNC-Wilmington.

Christian Foundations and Discipleship
BCA high school students will explore Christian Foundations through  biblical studies, discipleship and a Christian worldview component. High school students will have opportunity to study from the following subject areas:  OT Survey, OT Wisdom Literature, OT Historical Books, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets NT Survey, The Gospels, Paul’s Epistles, General Epistles, Apologetics I, Apologetics II, Ethics, Contemporary Christian issues, Christian Thinkers of the Twentieth Century, Study of Post-Modern Culture, Christian Worldview, etc.

 

Sports Program
High school students will have opportunity to play sports such as tennis, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, golf, volleyball, and cheerleading.
